TRAVEL TIPS

C You or your travel agent should ask about special features you'll need such as ramps, grab bars in the bathroom, parking arrangements and elevators to all levels.

C If you are in a wheelchair, be sure rooms and bathroom can accommodate you properly. For example, sinks and vanity tops should be 27 inches or lower; closets should have lower rods so clothes can be hung from a sitting position; switches for lights, temperature and TV should be conveniently located; and restaurant tables should be available to accommodate your chair.

C Nearly every hotel being built these days includes some facilities for even the most severely restricted guests. You'll find ramps, wider doorways, special bathrooms, telephone kiosks, and more.
